At Tokyo Women's Medical University, we offer obligatory English classes in the first year and in the fourth year. The first-year students have one Oral Communication class and one Listening class a week throughout the year. The classes are small, with 8 to 12 students in each class to enhance the quality of teaching and to provide more teacher's attention to each student. The students are encouraged to approach and talk with the friendly teachers, many of whom come from USA, UK and Australia. In addition, the fourth-year students have 5 class-hours of Medical English. |
For elective classes, we offer classes in English and American Literature, Basic Listening as well as Medical Discussion and Medical English classes.
English has become a very important tool in the field of medicine. At our school, it is our aim to give students the opportunity to become doctors equipped with a good knowledge of the language for their future career and for the sake of their patients from different countries in the world.
