Department of Preventive Medicine

Overview

The Department of Preventive Medicine practices a membership-based health screening program named Total Health Care (THC). This system was developed at the former Tokyo Women's Medical University Aoyama Hospital and has been proven over the years; following the closure of Aoyama Hospital in 2016, the Department was established at the main hospital.
Our department provides reliable health checkup results based on high quality health checkups using the latest medical equipment that only a university hospital can provide. In the lifestyle guidance that you receive after your physical examination, we not only inform you of the results of your physical examination, but also provide professional and detailed guidance to prevent the progression of lifestyle-related diseases and reduce the incidence of arteriosclerotic diseases and other diseases. Through lifestyle guidance, we strive to prevent diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia that can be prevented from developing or progressing through proper lifestyle habits. If any problems are found during medical checkups, we will refer the patient to our specialized department for prompt treatment. As the structure of diseases in Japan continues to change, our staff will work together to accurately grasp the epidemiological trends of various diseases and their risk factors, and to develop preventive medicine to meet the needs of our patients with the most up-to-date medical care.

Education Details

Unlike general medical examinations, the majority of patients who receive physical examinations have no subjective symptoms. In addition, those in social positions may not want others to know about their health condition due to social influences. With these special characteristics, experience and knowledge are required to face the examinee and provide correct diagnosis and appropriate health promotion advice. The Japanese Society of Ningen Dock has established specialist and supervisory physicians in addition to certified doctors of Ningen Dock. In addition to medical advisors for physical checkups, we have primary care physicians, certified internal medicine specialists, and specialists and certified physicians in various specialties, and have an extensive educational system covering a wide range of fields such as preventive medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and breast surgery. We aim to have even more physicians become board-certified specialists in the future.
