Studies of End-of-Life Care

Overview

The Doctoral Course of End-of-Life Care aims to explore the concept of end-of-life care from a new perspective and develop a philosophical foundation theory, considering the changing regional society and people's awareness of life and values. In addition, through the accumulation of findings in their own areas of interest and systematic reviews, students will learn how to integrate research findings, various research methods such as intervention research and experimental research to generate evidence, research design and rigor, and the fundamentals for becoming independent nursing researchers. Furthermore, for the development of end-of-life care in Japan, our program aims to foster interdisciplinarity through academic and international exchange with other academic fields (philosophy, ethics, psychology, pedagogy, public policy studies, etc.) and to develop autonomous researchers with a rich sense of humanity.

Possible Research Themes

Research that contributes to the development of end-of-life care in a cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary manner is all possible, and research designs can be quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods.
