Practical Nursing IV (Child Health Nursing)

Overview

The Child health Nursing program aims to develop human resources who have the ability to create and change high-quality nursing care by exploring nursing care that focuses on the best interests of the child. The educational curriculum includes a master's thesis course and a professional nursing course.
In the master's thesis course, students study child health nursing in a specialized and systematic manner, aiming to change the current situation as researchers, educators, and leaders in child health nursing practice. Students will learn basic research skills and conduct research based on their own research topics.
In the specialized nursing course, we have prepared a practical and diverse program that takes advantage of the characteristics of our university as a highly specialized hospital, including the knowledge required of advanced practice nurses, comprehensive understanding of children, rights advocacy, diagnostic treatment, and exercises and practical training to learn the role functions of child health nursing specialists. The program aims to help students acquire the ability to develop and practice higher quality nursing care for various contemporary child health nursing issues. Graduates of the program are active as Certified Nurse Specialist in Child Health Nursing.
We welcome those who wish to challenge themselves in research, education, and practice that will contribute to the improvement of the quality of child health nursing, and those who wish to be involved in child health nursing education in the future.

Possible Research Themes

Due to changes in the social environment, the field of child health nursing is increasingly required to deal with new issues in the highly specialized field, such as the guarantee of children's rights, ethical issues, improvement of nursing quality, continuing education issues, gene therapy and prenatal diagnosis. The main research topics in the Master's Thesis and Problem Research Thesis courses cover a wide range of topics, including child health nursing practice, children's growth and development, basic and continuing education in child health nursing, nurses involved in child health nursing themselves, and child health nursing in general. We will pursue high quality nursing care by conducting research on questions and issues related to children based on the organic linkage between research, education, and practice.
