TWIns

In April 2008, the Tokyo Women’s Medical University - Waseda University Joint Institution for Advanced Biomedical Sciences (TWIns) opened as a research and education center for medical engineering under the direction of TWMU and Waseda.

The name TWIns combines the “T” of Tokyo Women’s Medical University and the “W” of Waseda with “Institution”.

Within TWIns, Waseda operates the Center for Advanced Biomedical Sciences, Waseda University which comprises a number of life science faculties.
The Institute of Advanced Biomedical Engineering and Science of Tokyo Women’s Medical University, until now dispersed over several sites, has been consolidated within TWIns. The Medical Innovation Laboratory on the third floor is provided for companies and research institutions to use as offices and laboratories for conducting joint research. Within TWIns, we have established the Tokyo Women’s Medical University Center for Advanced Biomedical Sciences, comprising the Institute of Advanced Biomedical Engineering and Science and the Medical Innovation Laboratory.
